FORENSIC INTERVIEWING

Child forensic interviews are conducted to avoid multiple interviews.  Trained interviews speak with children while investigators watch from another room. Interviews are developmentally and culturally sensitive, unbiased, fact-finding, and legally sound.  

ABUSE PREVENTION PROGRAMS

Prevention Programs are a vital part of the CAC's services. The My Body

Is Mine! & Kid Detective Programs are presented in all area elementary schools. Middle and High School programs are also available.  

Adult Prevention Programs give adults the tools they need to protect the children in our community.

Specially trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE), offer free forensic exam services for victims of sexual assault, intimate partner violence including domestic violence, elder abuse and child abuse.  Adult exams may done with or without the involvement of law enforcement.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM

The Eddy Co. and Lea Co. Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Teams are composed of representatives from the District Attorney's Office, local and state Law Enforcement agencies, CYFD, Child Forensic Interviewers, Medical personnel, Mental Health professionals, and Victim Advocates.

ADVOCACY SERVICES

Victim advocates are available to provide needed crisis intervention, safety planning, ongoing support, access to additional services and resources needed by the child and family, including access to victims of crime funding.

Trauma Focused-Cognitive

Behavior Therapy is the most effective evidence-based model

for treating children and adolescents who have been impacted by traumatic events.

Therapy allows both children and their family to develop healthy skills and communication techniques while dealing with difficult issues.

The Foundry Home is located in Carlsbad, New Mexico and primarily serves the youth of Eddy and Lea counties. The Foundry Home is a low-barrier youth crisis shelter that provides beds for up to twelve youth, ages 12 to 17 for twenty-one days. 

The Foundry Home offers services and support 24 hours a day and 7 days a week year-round.
