Affirming Heart Victim Services started out as the Cavern City Child Advocacy Center in 2015. Over the years we have grown to include a variety of programs in South Eddy & Lea Counties- leading to our name change in 2023- Affirming Heart Victim Services (AHVS).

Affirming Heart Victim Services, through the Cavern City and Lea Co. Child Advocacy Centers, is dedicated to providing fact finding interviews for children and adolescents when there is suspected abuse, neglect, or if they witness a crime. Our interviewers use research-based methods that are forensically defensible for law enforcement and CYFD. Our CACs also offer advocacy services for vicitms and their families, as well as child and adult prevention & awareness programs.

We offer trauma counseling services through our Rise Up counseling program and sexual assault & domestic violence exams through our SPEAK sexual assault & domestic violence program. We also provide crisis shelter to youth who may be experiencing homelessness or are victims of human trafficking, with our Foundry Home youth shelter and enhanced visitation and parent coaching to families working toward reunification in our Stepping Stones visitation program.

AHVS is a part of the Eddy Co. and Lea Co. Child Abuse Response Teams that are composed of representatives from the District Attorney's Office, local and state Law Enforcement agencies, CYFD, Child Forensic Interviewers, Medical personnel, Mental Health professionals, and Victim Advocates.
